Tyler\u2019s advisory role will include working with industry bodies and government agencies to strengthen the voice of tourism in Alberta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the head of our diverse and talented Marketing Department, we are confident in Tyler\u2019s expertise to guide Northlands to becoming one of Alberta largest entertainment destinations and to continue to strengthen the positive relationship between Northlands and Alberta Tourism,\u201d says Sharilee Fossum, Acting President &amp; CEO, Northlands. \u201cTyler\u2019s energy and passion for positioning our province as a world-leader speaks volumes for the future of Alberta and we couldn\u2019t be more proud to have him here at Northlands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his role as Director of Marketing at Northlands, Tyler oversees the strategic development and implementation of all marketing activities for the organization &#8211; focusing specifically on revenue generation, brand integration and destination awareness. Tyler manages a diverse group of marketing professionals as well as overseeing the brand strategy, media buying, promotion, creative, graphic and web design departments. Tyler has a degree in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership and a strong passion for the tourism industry. Having previously served as a board member for Special Olympics Alberta Edmonton, he currently chairs the Edmonton Attractions Pass board\u2014an innovative and profitable consortia that aims to draw inbound tourism to the region. Tyler\u2019s leadership development includes work with the Easter Seals Foundation, Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta and the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon as well as volunteer work with the Bissell Centre and the Glenora Rotary Club.<\/p>\n<p>The Alberta Strategic Tourism Council is a government appointed body comprised of 15 community leaders who represent the diversity of Alberta and are tasked with providing strategic tourism advice to the Minister of Tourism.
