This will be the last time rodeo\u2019s champions compete at Northlands Coliseum and a celebration of the incredible memories, triumphs and legends that have been created in this building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, more than ever, the excellence and history from years past will be front and centre as we say goodbye to Northlands Coliseum,\u201d said Tim Reid, President and CEO, Northlands. \u201cWe have been doing this for 44 years and we know that the CFR, combined with Farmfair International, represents that largest annual economic impact to the City of Edmonton. We see individuals who come here every November and fill hotel rooms, eat at restaurants and spend their money in our city. We urge Edmontonians to take in this final opportunity to see premier rodeo action at Northlands Coliseum and we look forward to an incredible five days in November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first edition of the Canadian Finals Rodeo drew 24,000 dedicated rodeo fans to catch the action in 1974. Now, more than 90,000 guests come to Edmonton to enjoy the CFR annually and 2017 will be a celebration of their commitment and support of sport of rodeo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNorthlands and all of our community partners have been instrumental in building the Canadian Finals Rodeo into the premier rodeo finals in Canada,\u201d said Jeff Robson, CPRA Representative. \u201cThis year\u2019s event will be an exceptional send-off to a building that holds a storied history and so many memories for all who have been a part of the CFR for the past 44 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>About the Canadian Finals Rodeo<\/h3>\n<p>Hats off to 44 years. It\u2019s been one hell of a ride. The final <a href=\"https:\/\/cfr.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Finals Rodeo<\/a> in Northlands Coliseum runs from November 8-12. As the largest annual indoor rodeo in Canada, the CFR attracts the best rodeo athletes, stock and personnel in the country to Northlands Coliseum for six adrenaline packed performances. Competitors descend on the city of Edmonton to vie for national titles in seven major events and more than $1.5 million in prize money. Collecting points at rodeos across the country all year, the CFR competitors represent the 12 best athletes in each event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canadian Finals Rodeo Media Accreditation is now available for application <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cfr.ca\/media-news\/media-accreditation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>online<\/strong><\/a><strong>.
