Edmonton celebrates its agriculture and western heritage!

EDMONTON, AB – Northlands proudly produced and hosted Farmfair International from November 3-10, 2013 and the Canadian Finals Rodeo from November 6-10, 2013. As the western entertainment destination, the Wild West came alive on the Northlands grounds for the 40th Anniversary of both events. Starting with Farmfair International and ending with CFR Championship on Sunday November 10 – this was certainly an anniversary to remember.
“Edmontonians were given the opportunity to celebrate our western heritage and identity under the exceptional setting of two of Northlands’ biggest events – Farmfair International and the Canadian Finals Rodeo,” says Richard L. Andersen, CFE, President and CEO, Northlands. “The west is very much still alive as local and international guests gathered to celebrate the best in agriculture and Canadian rodeo.”
The celebrations kicked off Sunday, November 3 at Farmfair International – Canada’s premier agriculture showcase. The 40th Anniversary of Farmfair International brought national and international sellers and buyers together to conduct business and share ideas. A total of 87,228 guests came through the Edmonton EXPO Centre to see 8 national cattle shows, the Heritage Ranch Rodeo, RAM Country Marketplace and more.
The 40th Anniversary of the Canadian Finals Rodeo injected the City of Edmonton with a dose of adrenaline unmatched by any other sport! This year, the best of the best in rodeo athletes, stock and personnel competed for national titles, bragging rights and more than $1.47 million in prize money. 88,521 guests came to see six adrenaline packed performances over five days at Rexall Place. Next year’s Canadian Finals Rodeo runs from November 5-9, 2014.
