EDMONTON, AB – Rodeo Week kicks off on Saturday, November 1 with Black Tie Bingo from 5 – 11 p.m. at the Northlands Edmonton EXPO Centre. This year’s event includes an exciting change in format to include Best Bite of Black Tie Bingo – a culinary competition between six of Edmonton’s finest chefs. Hosted by Danny Hooper, the 2014 edition of Black Tie Bingo will raise funds for Edmonton Rodeo Cowboy’s Benevolent Foundation through a live and silent auction, great evening entertainment and bingo!

“Black Tie Bingo is a unique evening of entertainment that kicks of Rodeo Week by supporting the athletes who bring the CFR to Edmonton every year,” said Laura Gadowsky, Chair, Edmonton Rodeo Cowboy’s Benevolent Foundation. “Through an evening of great entertainment, we are able to raise enough funds for the Edmonton Cowboy’s Benevolent Foundation to keep the proud tradition of rodeo alive in our country.”

Brand new for 2014, Black Tie Bingo is proud to feature a culinary competition between six of Edmonton’s finest chefs. From 5 – 7 p.m., the following Edmonton chefs will be competing for the Best Bite of Black Tie Bingo:

Chef Cory Rakowski – The Bothy Wine & Whiskey Bar
Chef Brad Smoliak – Kitchen by Brad Smoliak
Chef Brad Lazarenko – Culina Family of Restaurants
Chef Paul Shufelt – Century Hospitality Group
Chef Michael Hassall – Vivo
Chef Erica Vliegenthart – District Coffee Co. & Elm Catering

Tickets for the 2014 Black Tie Bingo are still available online. Your ticket includes: Complimentary parking, hosted cocktail hour, culinary competition with six of Edmonton’s finest chefs, live musical performance from the Krysta Scoggins Band, live auction with Danny Hopper, a plated dinner created by the Northlands culinary team and great silent auction items!

About the Edmonton Rodeo Cowboy’s Benevolent Foundation:

Created in 1989, The Edmonton Rodeo Cowboy’s Benevolent Foundation assists athletes in times of financial hardship due to rodeo-related injuries. To date, over 250 athletes have received more than $1.5 million in support. To support the foundation, Northlands raises funds through CFR 50/50, Black Tie Bingo and the CPRA Ladies and Luncheon Fashion Show.
