Celebrate summer with a fantastic entertainment lineup from May-September
EDMONTON, AB – On May 20, Northlands was pleased to announce this year’s K-Days South Stage headliner lineup including performances by Lights, Arkells, Phillip Phillips, Trooper and more. Brand new for 2015, Northlands has launched the Local Hero Contest encouraging Edmontonians to nominate their community champions for a chance to be recognized in the K-Days Parade as Honorary Parade Marshals. In addition, Northlands and the Edmonton Eskimos are proud to invite football fans to Park and Party, a giant pre-game event hosted at Northlands Park Racetrack & Casino in celebration of the Labour Day Re-Match between the Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders on September 12.
“As residents of the festival city, we know Edmontonians are constantly seeking more opportunities to make the most out of the short summer months,” said Tim Reid, President & CEO, Northlands. “We’re giving our community the chance to enjoy their summer holidays at Northlands and from now until September, you can come on site almost any day and find something for the whole family to enjoy.”
From July 17-26, the south grounds at K-Days come alive to host some of the best bands, brews and barbecues north of the equator. Fairgoers can grab a beer or cocktail from the Molson Boardwalk Beach and Beer Gardens and a rack of ribs from fan-favourite RE/MAX Rib Fest while listening to one of this year’s headliners on the K-Days South Stage. With a headliner lineup including performances by Theory of a Deadman, July Talk, Brett Kissel, The Presidents of the United States of America and more, there’s a night of live music awaiting everyone at K-Days.
Brand new for 2015, Northlands is excited to partner with Global Edmonton to find six Honorary Parade Marshals for the K-Days Parade. From May 20 – June 19, Edmontonians are encouraged to go online to nominate their local heroes in six categories – anyone from a great neighbor to a community ambassador – to participate in the K-Days Parade on Friday, July 17. Further to securing a spot in the K-Days Parade, each winning Honorary Parade Marshal will receive $500 to donate to the charitable or community cause of their choice.
