EDMONTON, AB – Edmonton’s own Laura Gadowsky has been named the Deputy President for the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth (RASC). After serving as the Chair of the Board of the Directors for Northlands from April 2013 to April of 2015, Gadowsky begins a two-year term with the RASC commencing today at the Commonwealth Agricultural Conference in Singapore.
“This is a tremendous honour,” said Gadowsky. “Not only to represent Northlands, the province of Alberta but the opportunity to be at the table as a Canadian representing our nation’s agriculture industry is a commitment I take seriously. I look forward to working with other members of the RASC board over the course of the next two years.”
As the new Deputy President, Gadowsky will participate in the strategic planning committee for the 28th Commonwealth Agricultural Conference which will be held in Edmonton in November 2018. The conference was secured by Northlands and will be held in conjunction with Farmfair International. Information on the Edmonton conference can be found at RASC2018Canada.com. The RASC is a confederation of more than 50 leading national and regional Agricultural Show Societies, Agricultural Associations and Research Bodies working in 24 Commonwealth countries.
Ms. Gadowsky is President of Gadowsky Special Event Management, specializing in corporate and government meetings and sport event operations. As an active volunteer and Edmonton community member, she has a keen interest in mentoring and educating students. Gadowsky also serves as the Chair of the Edmonton Rodeo Cowboy’s Benevolent Foundation.
